A premier acute care facility is seeking a dedicated provider to join their surgical team this summer. This is a high-volume, collaborative environment perfect for a skilled first-assistant looking for a short-term engagement with potential for extension.
Position Overview
--Role: Locum Tenens APP (NP/PA/DNP)
--Duration: July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026 (potential to extend)
--Schedule: Main Shift Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
--On-Call: One week per month (Monday – Thursday, 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM) as 2nd Call/Backup.
--Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient (Surgical focus)
--EMR: EPIC
Clinical Responsibilities
--This role focuses heavily on Surgical First Assisting for Cardiothoracic and Vascular cases, with minimal rounding duties.
--Caseload: Support 2–4 surgeries per MD daily (Hearts, Lungs, and Vascular).
--Key Procedures: Assist in a wide range of cardiovascular and respiratory surgical procedures.
--Preferred Skill: Proficiency in Radial Artery Harvesting is highly desirable.
Requirements
--Board Status: Board Certified (BC) in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
--Licensure: Must hold an active Kentucky State License with a clear malpractice and background history.
--Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS.
--Experience: Proven experience in CT Surgery First Assisting is required.
