High Paying - High Volume Gastroenterologist Locums Job in Southern Illinois | Seeking 5 Days in September + 11 Days in December + Ongoing 2027 Coverage
The facility has a mixedneed consisting of inpatient procedure days (high volume, anticipating between14-17 scopes per day each shift) & 24 hour call coverage in 2026 (includes some procedures as well) but will have an increased need for call going into 2027.
Dates for Assignment #115987:
* 9/27 - 10/2 (Monday-Friday procedures only)
* 12/21 - 1/1/2027 (24 hour call coverage including procedures)
+ ongoing 24 hour call coverage needs primarily in 2027
What to Expect when covering:
~Procedure only coverage: 7:30-4:30PM, schedule of 20 procedures with a 25%daily cancellation rate on average
~Call coverage: half a day of procedures (approx. 10 / day) that you shouldfinish around noon, followed by rounding at 2 facilities for the rest of theday
* When doing scopes: Will be working a 'flip room,' setting. Will be on callafter scheduled procedures in the morning.
* Will have full anesthesia support + pre / post op patient coordinationsupport
* ERCP are preferred but are not a firm requirement
* Will need to be credentialed at three different facilities (within samehealth system)
* Information on facilities: 150+ bed facility, Epic EMR, 1 facility is a level2 trauma designation
Privileging Requirements:
* Board Certification or true Eligibility required
* Active Illinois license + CSR preferred, but willing to license
* Must provide a minimum of 100 dated case logs representative of thescope & complexity of the privileges requested from the last year.
* Core privileges include: Proctoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy,Colonoscopy with and without biopsy or polypectomy including colonicdilatation, Complete enteroscopy including single balloon enteroscopy (DBE)with or without biopsy, Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with or without biopsyincluding hemostasis, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy device placementincluding stent or Bravo, use of energy sources (excluding lasers) during anendoscopic procedures, PEG, GI Motility studies, Capsule endos, hemorrhoidbanding)
