Transplant Hepatology Locums Job Needed in Louisiana
One of our partnering hospitals is seeking a Locums Transplant Hepatologist to support their Liver Transplant program, beginning as soon as possible on an ongoing basis. The hospital has a full-time coverage need, but is open to multiple candidates with two weeks per month of availability on a consistent basis. The locums physician will be designated as Primary Hepatologist, working with transplant patients, performing scopes and liver biopsy's. Job Details:
--Start: ASAP
--Scope of work: Transplant Hepatologist, non-Surgical
--Coverage needed to support 1 FTE - will accept multiple candidates
--Ideal schedule would be 7on 7off or 2 weeks on 2 weeks off between two candidates
--Setting: Inpatient and outpatient clinic required
--Schedule flexible based on candidate preference, Ex: 7a-7p on site, first 1-2 hours rounding in hospital, followed by clinic appointments, finish at hospital rounding and charting.
--Night call 7pm-7am.
--Clinic hours: 8am-4:30pm, Hepatology clinic only open 2 days per week.
--Weekend call: 24 hour call, 7am-7am, 2 hours of rounding expected
--Transplant program volume: 13-20 liver transplants per year.
--Clinic volume: 25 patients per week
--Hospital inpatient census: 8-18 patients per day
--Procedures: Scoping, liver biopsy, working on transplant patients (pre and follow-up post transplant)
Hospital Details:
--Support staff: 1 APP beginning in March, local GI available for call and consults
--Temporary/Emergency privileges available
--Beds: 737
--Not a designated trauma center
--EMR: Meditech
Requirements:
--Active LA license or IMLC
--Board Certification in Internal Medicine and GI
--Hepatology fellowship preferred
--Must be interested in being designated as Primary Hepatologist per UNOS/OPTN guidelines
