Neonatology Physician Locums Job in California | 24-Hour Call Coverage | Beginning January 11 – Ongoing | Assignment #112361Coverage Details-- January 11 – January 20 (ending January 21 AM)
-- Ongoing: 11th–20th of every month
-- Orientation: Business day prior to first shift in the afternoon
Shift Description-- 24-hour call coverage
-- Average callback hours: 4.7 hours
Requirements-- Board Certified or Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine
-- Active State License
-- BLS, NRP, DEA (required during credentialing)
-- Substantial recent experience in neonatology (not pediatrics)
-- Clean malpractice history
Required Procedures-- Ventilatory assistance, including ETT CPAP
-- Nasal CPAP >4 hours, NCPAP >6 cm H O or FiO >0.60
-- Surfactant administration beyond initial dose
-- Cardiac pressors administration
-- FiO >0.60
-- PaCO >50 on two ABGs 1 hour apart
-- Peripheral arterial or central line
-- Chest tube placement
-- TPN hyperalimentation
-- Exchange transfusion
-- Gestational age <32 weeks
-- Birth weight <1600 grams
Assignment Details-- Round in Level III NICU at least once per day
-- Cover calls from nursing staff and come onsite as patient condition requires
-- No nursery rounding (pediatric hospitalists handle nursery)
-- Trauma Level II Center
-- Support Staff: NICU nurses, Family Practice Residents (supervised by neonatologist), Laborists, Pediatric Hospitalists
-- No APP support
-- NICU daily census: 7–12 patients
-- EMR: Cerner Care B
