Coverage Details
-- July 1, 2026 – July 1, 2027
-- Approximately 9 weeks of daytime coverage needed, preferably 7-14 day blocks
-- Same number of night coverage weeks

Shift Details
-- Day shift: 10 hours
-- Night shift: 14-hour home call with required arrival within 30 minutes if called in
-- Weekend call coverage required
-- Call ratio 1:4
-- Call schedule is variable due to staffing shortages

Requirements
-- MD or DO
-- Board certified or Truly Board Eligible in Neonatology
-- Fellowship trained in Neonatology
-- Active Michigan medical license
-- Will accept providers that have current NRP advanced provider or instructor status
-- NALS certification 

Required Procedures / Skills
-- PA catheter insertion
-- Umbilical venous and artery catheterization
-- PICC placement

Assignment Details
-- Practice setting includes a Level III NICU and special care nursery
-- Average of 3 admissions per day
-- Average daily census of 31 patients
-- Total bed capacity of 47 beds
-- Level I trauma center
-- EMR: Epic
-- Open bay NICU setting
-- Duties include: attending high-risk deliveries/C-sections, managing ventilation including BiPAP, CPAP, oscillator ventilator support, and nitric oxide, and performing neonatal resuscitation
-- May supervise neonatal nurse practitioners
-- Support staff includes NICU nurse manager, operations manager, nursing staff, neonatal nurse practitioners, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietitians, and child life specialists
-- Credentialing timeframe is approximately 120 days
