Neurosurgery Locums Job in Kentucky | 24-Hour Inpatient Call | Beginning April 3 - Ongoing | Assignment #117263Coverage Details-- Credentialing timeframe: Temporary privileges available
Open Dates-- April 3 (7am) – April 13 (7am)
-- July 24 (7am) – August 9 (7am)
-- October 2 (7am) – October 12 (7am)
-- Coverage dates may be flexible within and around the requested dates
Shift Details-- 24-hour inpatient call and orientation
-- Approximately 7 shifts per month
-- 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
-- 8 hours onsite for rounding and consults with night pager call coverage
Requirements-- Board Certified in Neurological Surgery by ABNS
-- Active Kentucky license or active IMLC license only
-- Active ABLS
-- Active ATLS
-- Active ACLS
Required Skills + Procedures-- Spinal and cranial procedures
-- The locums would not have to complete any elective surgeries scheduled by other physicians in the practice; just inpatient/ED surgery call.
-- Physician will need to be comfortable performing surgery independently while on-site during the day
Assignment Details-- Adult patient mix
-- Day shift rounding and consult workload: 10-15 daily
-- Night call workload: 5-10 calls per night to consult the ER, review films, and determine need for surgery
-- All scans will be overread by radiologists
-- The vast majority of night calls do not require going into the facility
-- If onsite night coverage is needed, it would be once a night; needing to go in person more than once per night is extremely rare
-- Neurointerventional MD will also be on call with the locums physician
-- Locums physician is not required to cover acute stroke call
-- 391 beds with a 20-bed Neuro ICU
-- EMR: Epic
