Neurosurgery APP Support Locums Job in Georgia
Established neurosurgery practice seeking locum APP support following the departure of a long-term physician assistant. The team is looking for a highly capable APP to provide both operative and clinic-based support, with some call responsibilities.
Scope of Practice:
--First assist in the operating room during scheduled neurosurgical cases on designated days,
--Independent clinic coverage on designated days (seeing patients autonomously)
--Participation in call coverage (7–10 days per month)
--Support across both inpatient and outpatient settings as needed
--No procedures
Volume:
--Clinic: 15 patients per day
--OR block days: 3-6 cases
--Callbacks: 0-1 per shift. Limited to emergent cases requiring a return to the OR
Schedule:
--Start: ASAP and ongoing for at least 3-4 months
--Coverage needed: 4 weeks per month
--Clinic Days: Monday & Wednesday, 8a-5p
--APP must be comfortable seeing patients independently
--OR Block Time: Tuesday & Thursday, 7:30a-4p
--Surgical assist required
Ideal Candidate:
--Experienced Neurosurgery APP (PA or NP)
Comfortable with:
- First assist in neurosurgical procedures
- Independent clinic patient management
- Call responsibilities
--Active GA license preferred
