Shift Details-- Clinic Schedule:
-- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
-- Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
-- Call: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM
Call Details-- Call Ratio: 1:3
-- Call Type: Beeper
-- Response Time: 30 minutes
-- Phone consults during call: 12
-- Patients seen during call: 5
-- Admissions during call: 2-5
-- Call coverage includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
Requirements-- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
-- Active Washington license or IMLC
-- ACLS
-- BLS
-- NRP
-- Clean history and malpractice required
Required Procedures / Skills-- Fetal Heart Monitoring
-- Low risk pregnancy
-- High risk pregnancy
-- FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
-- OB ultrasounds: performance and interpretation- Level I/Screening (viability)
-- Routine delivery
-- Vaginal delivery
-- Low forceps
-- Decision-making for C-section
-- Complicated delivery
-- C-section
-- Breech
-- Multiple births
-- Abruptions
-- VBACs
-- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
-- Office/minor gynecology (IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
-- Surgical gynecology
-- Open surgical gynecology
-- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation, LOAs, chromal tubation)
-- Operative/major surgical gynecology (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs)
Assignment Details-- Rounding required in both inpatient and outpatient settings
-- Admissions required
-- Patients per clinic day: 20-22
-- Department bed count: 16
-- Average deliveries per year: 1,650
-- Trauma Level III facility
-- Resident/teaching supervision required
-- Support Staff: 2 RNs, 3 MAs, 7 office staff
-- Physician is not required to remain on-site while providing call support
