Pediatric Hospitalist Physician Locums Job in Mississippi

Practice Overview
--Dedicated pediatric unit
--12-bed unit with very low pediatric admission volume (<20 admissions/year)
--Level II Nursery
--High-acuity cases stabilized and transferred out
Schedule & Call
--Daily rounding begins around 8:00 AM
--<2 hours/day rounding (including charting)
--Goal: discharge patients before 2:00 PM
--24-hour call coverage (rarely called in; primarily for emergency C-sections)
--Less than 1 ER call per day on average
--Approximately 1 weekend of call per month
Responsibilities
--No requirement to attend all deliveries
--Attend C-sections or high-risk deliveries only (infrequent)
--No circumcisions required
--No routine procedures required
--Intubation rarely needed (anesthesia support available)
Requirements
--Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
--PALS certification required
--Comfortable with newborn care in a Level II nursery
