--$98 to $102 per hour
--Part Time | 26 hours per week
--Office based in Ithaca, NY | Serving Tioga and Tompkins Counties
--Onsite 2 to 4 days per week
Position Overview
A community based behavioral health organization in the Ithaca area is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join its Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a PMHNP who enjoys working collaboratively with youth, families, and an interdisciplinary clinical team.
The PMHNP will provide comprehensive psychiatric services, including psychiatric assessments, treatment planning, medication management, and psychopharmacology. The provider will also collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and members of the Youth ACT team to support positive outcomes for the youth served.
Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evaluations, treatment, and medication management
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacological interventions
• Collaborate with the Youth ACT interdisciplinary team and external healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care
• Build trusting relationships with youth and families while providing education and support regarding medications and treatment
• Educate team members on psychiatric conditions, medication side effects, treatment strategies, and behavioral health concerns
• Provide training and clinical guidance to staff to support effective medication management and quality patient care
• Participate in clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute psychiatric expertise to treatment planning
• Provide consultation to families and staff regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment approaches
• Ensure all clinical activities comply with New York State practice requirements and applicable regulatory standards
Requirements
• Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification required
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license required
• Active DEA registration required
• Completion of 3,600 hours of practice strongly preferred
