Shift Description-- 6 PM – 6 AM coverage, 7on 7 off ongoing
-- Inpatient, no call
Requirements-- Active Michigan license + DEA
-- AHA ACLS, ATLS
Required Procedures / Skills-- Ability to treat patients of all ages
Assignment Details--Manage inpatient admissions and consults for trauma, general surgery and urology
--Respond to level I and level II trauma activations, perform admissions/H&P/Consults
--Acting as hospital wide first call for all inpatient surgical services (general surgery, trauma, ortho, urology, colorectal)
--Proficient in suturing, central lines, art lines, and tube placement
--Evaluate general surgical & trauma consults/admissions and discuss with on call general surgeon
--Board any surgical cases
--Urology admissions/consults/board cases for surgery
--Troubleshoot foley catheters/troubleshoot continuous bladder irrigation/assist with set up for bedside procedure if surgeon is needed
--Proctoring- Minimum 5 per procedure
