Gastroenterologist Hospitalist Locums Job in Northern Mississippi | May 2024 start
Coverage Details: Monday through Friday, GI Hospitalist coverage (7A - 4P or 8A - 5P each weekday) + weeknight 5P-8A & weekend call (Friday @ 5PM - Monday @ 8AM)
Dates of coverage:
--Sunday, May 5 at 3PM – Monday, May 20 at 7AM
--Monday, June 10 at 7AM – Monday, June 17 at 7AM
+ Will have future ongoing dates of coverage needed
Details/Requirements Assignment #97541:
» Mississippi medical license required (open to reviewing candidates that have an active LOQ through the IMLC too)
» Current Board Certification required
» ERCP is preferred, not required
» Monday-Friday from 8A-5P covering inpatient services (majority of time will be spent doing GI procedures on inpatients and seeing new consults) + night and weekend call coverage
» Weekend call would require rounding on any patient necessary + seeing new consults (doing procedures as needed)
» Volume: current physician is averaging approximately 60 colonoscopies + EGDs (combined) per week + 5-10 new GI consults each day
» Big portion of new consults come in over the night/early mornings but facility doesn't require anything emergent/in most cases the consults are handled the next day
» GIs on call over night/on the weekends are called in 3-4 times per month after hours (cases/patients requiring immediate attention are minimal)
» Facility detail: 320+ bed facility, located minutes away from a large & very accessible airport, Epic EMR
» GI Lab with three suites that uses Olympus scopes, Medivators for reprocessing, ERBE for hemostasis and cautery, GMED for communication and Boston Scientific for ERCP
