General Surgery Locums Job in California | 24 Hour Call | Beginning October 8, 2026 - Ongoing | Assignment #116898Coverage Details-- October 8, 2026 – October 12, 2026, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
-- Ongoing need TBD with sporadic coverage as needed
-- Credentialing timeframe: Will try to emergency credential in time for January dates
Shift Details-- 24-hour call coverage, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
-- Weekend coverage required as part of the schedule
-- 100% ED call coverage
Requirements-- Board Certified or Board Eligible (must be within 3-5 years of residency completion)
-- California medical license
-- CA DEA + ATLS
-- ACLS
-- BLS
-- Clean malpractice history with no paid claims
Required Procedures / Skills-- Endoscopy
-- Must perform scopes
Assignment Details-- Hospital-based General and Trauma Surgery setting
-- Level III Trauma facility
-- Single ED call schedule
-- Endoscopy volume varies and may be fewer than two scopes per week
-- Support available from employed General Surgeons and an in-house ED Physician
-- Provider must be actively practicing with full privileges and cannot have been away from surgical practice for a year
-- Reason for coverage: Expanding provider pool to fill coverage gaps
-- Approximately 800 trauma cases per year
-- Trauma cases primarily include motor vehicle accidents, stabbings, shootings, ATV incidents, motorcycle accidents, swimming injuries, and horse-related injuries
