Hand Surgery Locums Job in Michigan | 24-Hour Call | Beginning ASAP – December 2026 | Assignment #115061Coverage Details for Assignment #115061:-- 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
-- Trauma call coverage with approximately 10 days/month of coverage needed
-- Holiday 24-hour call required as needed
Requirements-- Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, or General Surgery
-- Fellowship trained in Hand Surgery
-- Active Michigan medical license (full license required; IMLC not accepted)
-- BLS and ACLS - highly preferred
Required Procedures / Skills-- Hand procedures
-- Traumatic hand reconstruction
-- General plastic surgery procedures, including facial laceration repair
-- Scar revisions
-- Skin grafts
-- Flap procedures
-- Minor burn care
Assignment Details-- 24-hour trauma call coverage at a Level I Trauma Center
-- Coverage needed due to ongoing gaps in 24/7/365 hand surgery support
-- Patient population: Ages 15+
-- Average case volume: ~1 case/month (up to 3/month during summer; about 50 'hand cases' per year)
-- Annual ED volume: ~90,000 visits
-- Team includes dedicated hand provider, community plastic surgeon, and employed orthopedic hand surgeons
-- Clinic duties minimal; occasional follow-ups as needed
-- Trauma clinic support available (Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
-- Trauma team assists with rounding; no additional support staff
-- Goal is to reduce patient transfers
-- Credentialing timeframe: 120+ days
-- Level 1 Trauma Center
-- 450+ staffed beds
