Coverage Details
-- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
-- 40 hours per week
-- No weekend coverage
-- No on-call coverage

Requirements
-- Board Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
-- Connecticut license to practice medicine and surgery (temporary license may be granted for a period not to exceed one year)

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients with psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse disorders
-- Prescribe appropriate medications and other biologic and psychosocial treatments
-- Conduct advanced level risk assessments
-- Review treatment plans, clinical records, diagnoses and discharge plans for compliance with policies and regulatory standards
-- Provide direct patient care and clinical oversight of multidisciplinary treatment teams
-- Consult on difficult and complex cases
-- Develop and implement quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
-- Perform utilization review and management functions
-- Attend court hearings as a state witness

Assignment Details
-- Staff augmentation assignment
-- Provides clinical administrative, supervisory and direct care psychiatric services as a board-certified advanced clinician
-- May supervise medical and unit staff including psychiatrists, psychologists, primary care physicians, social workers, therapists and clerical staff
-- Coordinates work of medical staff with related programs
-- Provides education and training including grand rounds and case conferences
-- Conducts and participates in meetings related to clinical and administrative policy, research programs, clinical program development and treatment techniques
-- Prepares and reviews reports, medical records and correspondence
